Big Weekend

Alice had an exciting weekend, beginning on Friday with her first literary event:
First, you have to get to the train.
The you wait for it to show.
Thank goodness it isn't the Green line: here comes the train!
Everybody has to hold on. Mama and Dada tell me I am not old enough to surf the T. Just wait till Uncle Curtis comes . . .
The reading started with a concert of music from my adopted Irish roots!
Applauding is the best part!
Ok, so we didn't actually hear more than one of the readers, because we decided to be preemptive and at the first sign of meltdown exited. But it was a nice evening out.

The next night we had friends over, and of course Mama forgot to bring her camera downstairs! So no pics. But Alice let all the other moms hold her (not so sure about the other dads). Tom is learing to grill by inviting experts over and conning them into cooking our dinner. So far Clyde and Evan have been extremely helpful. Now we just need to get Steve over here and I think Tom will graduate to grilling for us on weeknights!

As for Sunday, we followed Sarah's blog to Gloucester. We skipped the castle and miniature golf, but followed her beach and clam shack recommendations. Sadly, my camera continues to have problems, so although it was completely clear, I could only get a couple of pictures before being told the memory was full. Grrrrr.

Our day started out with an impromptu brunch with Julie, Zoh, and Anna. They live across the street from where I lived in Brighton--too strange. We went over there to go to our first Open House, as we inch our way towards home ownership next year. It was a good exercise, although we left wanting to buy Julie and Zoh's home!!! After a wonderful bruch, we headed to the beach!

Alice loved digging her hands into the sand.
And she was pretty good actually about not trying to eat the sand.
She was a little more leary of sticking her toes in the cold water.
While we were there, the tide went out and we were able to walk far out onto an exposed sandbar.
So, thanks Sarah, and what do you recommend for next weekend's Sunday Adventure Series?
