My parents came for Thanksgiving for both the holiday and Alice's re-adoption ceremony. This is a legal formality. Basically, when she is ready for youth league soccer, it will be easier to get extra copies of her birth certificate locally than from Guatemala. It was really lovely to have my folks here. We weren't able t take pictures in Guatemala at the Embassy, so it is really nice to have family photos documenting the process. It was even more special that my folks came as we were in the middle of our move. Most everything was packed, but the furniture was still there. We got our dinner from Whole Foods, and it was wonderful to be together. My dad ended up staying extra days to help us through the move. I do not know how we would be doing all this without my folks. We love you Maemae and Papa!
