Alice has several wonderful Father's in her life. Two are grand> Burnham and my dad. Burnham has been so engaging with Alice, playing his flute for her and showing off his kitties. My dad has spent so much time with Alice, coming here to the rescue when she was so sick, and on my visits to Tampa. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful role models for myself, and for the best Dada of all, Alice's Dada.
Tom and Alice have adored each other from day 1, when only he could calm her tears. She turns to him often in times of frustration, knowing he will be calm and everlastingly patient as she explores the world around her. He immediately saw how musical Alice is and has nurtured this in so many ways . . . (Alice can now say 'Coltraine' -- but Mama is too lazy to see if she spelled it right, and during a certain song, she knows when to sing 'boom boom' after the "doo-doo doo-doo doo," and she loves all the songs he makes up and is now not only starting to sing along but to make up her own songs.
And besides all the enrichment activities, Alice's Dada makes sure she has clean clothes, good food to eat, is clean herself, and is involved in her routines in countless ways that are wonderful for her and so supportive of me.
Seeing them together, learning from each other, is such a gift to me. Thank you, Tom, for being such a wonderful husband and father.
