The Lemon Game and Muffin Surprise

Recently, when Tom picked Alice up from daycare, she actually answered him when he asked what she'd done that day. She told him that she and her friend Bluet had played The Lemon Game. Well, we had Alice's care provider and her children Lucy and Nico over for a playdate today, and after some thought, Amy figured The Lemon Game is a hide and seek game where they hide things for each other to find, like a the lemon from the toy kitchen at school. It just amazes me that she has this entire life that we are only allowed glimpses of . . .

Later today we were cleaning out the storage space under the oven and moving some pots there, and she saw the muffin tins and asked to make muffins. We made corn muffins, and they turned into Muffin Surprise. There was a cup of tomatoes she had been snacking on earlier on the counter, and halfway through the batter making process she decided to dump them into the wet ingredients. There were probably about half a dozen grape tomato halves . . . hence, muffin surprise! We have had a lot of fun cooking and cleaning together. She has helped Tom and I do dishes the last several nights.

And now for the catch up portion . . .

This was probably back in October. She has several babies that she takes care of here at home. She rocks them and feeds them.

This was amazing to watch, as she carefully carried the food from the table to the baby she had strapped into the high chair. One day I found Elmo in the high chair with some ric in his mouth.

Ok, here we are at a parade in Somerville. This was bck in the days when our laundry was broken (grrrr) at the rental and we had walked from the luandromat to Davis Square for brunch. These were also the days when Alice didnt want to nap, but would get sooo tired. She hasn't really napped over vacation, unless we have been in the car or I had her in the ergo. She doesn't want to miss out on anything. I am sure Jennifer would diagnose a serious case of FOMS (Fear of Missing Something).

Here we are after lining up at 7am to vote. We had already bought the house by then, so this was very bittersweet as it turned into a huge gathering of all our neighbors hearing the news we were leaving while we waited in line to vote. We only had to wait an hour, which didn't seem bad.

Finally, our gorgeous girl.
