Independence

Alice has always loved to help us clean the house and cook. Lately, she has been very interested in parallel cooking rather than participatory cooking. Since we have a lid sized table and chairs in the kitchen, she has begun using the chairs to reach ingredients. She will get herself a glass of milk when thirsty, get the plates and glasses down to set the table, and even pour drinks.


Here she has a cookie sheet, a cooling rack, a saucepan, and a muffin tin.


She later figured out to line up another large measuring cup next to the saucepan so she could pour from the muffin tin into the two containers simultaneously, thereby preventing any spills. I love watching her problem solve.


Finally, here is a muffin tin of carefully portioned out milk. And yes, I did pour it back later!
